it was fun while i played, but now the server is full of people using hacks to play as sonic and max out their golds and whatnot, it's pretty dumb to play with anyone other than people you know.

It isn't that bad, actually, grinding? It's ok. But you'll miss playing with people, because some missions and dungeons are a real grindfest if played alone. With 3 to 5 people, things are piss easy, and very enjoyable.
And I'm not sure if anyone here wants to play it. Me, I could replay it one of these days, I'm currently free.
